So has the gloss departed?... - if there ever was a gloss to the Nasdaq market, that is and the frenzy of the markets - seen over the long view - was not some daft illusion talked up by the trendiest of people, just to keep up their flagging investments.
There's no doubt, times are going to be harder over the coming year or so - but that's no reason why money can't be made - returns may be less, position is everything.

The Nasdaq 100 index rose slightly in an abbreviated trading session as Wall Street weighed record-high crude oil prices and reports showing a drop in the service sector, but an unchanged unemployment rate.
The index, which includes 100 of the largest nonfinancial securities listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market (nasdaq: NDAQ) , rose 0.20 points to 1,816.35. The broader Nasdaq composite fell 6.08 points to 2,245.38.
On the falling side, shares of Nvidia Corp. (nasdaq: NVDA) plunged $5.54, or 30.7 percent, to $12.49 after the graphics chip maker lowered its second-quarter revenue outlook. Earlier in the session, shares touched a 52-week low of $12.40.
Shares of Leap Wireless International (nasdaq: LEAP) Inc. lost $4.25, or 10.5 percent, to $36.42. Rival low-cost wireless carrier MetroPCS Communications (nyse: PCS) Inc. posted disappointing subscriber numbers for its second quarter Thursday.
